An Initial Vestibular Physiotherapy Consultation is 45-60 minutes long and includes full Vestibular Physiotherapy assessment (including BPPV assessment), diagnosis of the cause of your dizziness or balance issue and prescription of exercises (and/or treatment of your BPPV) to assist in the management of your condition.
Initial Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) Assessment is 45 minutes long and includes a full assessment of your Positional Vertigo issue (i.e. dizziness with getting out of bed, rolling in bed, looking up or bending over). This also includes treatment repositioning manoeuvres to treat your BPPV and possibly exercises to treat any accompanying balance disorder.
Review Vestibular Physiotherapy Consultation is 30 – 45 minutes in length – this is for patients who have attended the clinic before and is involves a full review of your dizziness and balance issues, revision of your exercises and repositioning manoeuvres for BPPV if appropriate.
Review Benign Paroxysmal Vertigo (BPPV) Assessment is approximately 30 minutes in length and involves a review of your Benign Paroxysmal Vertigo (BPPV) symptoms (i.e. dizziness getting out of bed, rolling in bed, looking up and bending over). This also includes treatment repositioning manoeuvres to treat your BPPV and possibly exercises to treat any accompanying balance disorder.
Every person is different. The number of sessions required depends on the cause of the symptoms and how you respond to treatment. Your physiotherapist will inform you of the expected number of sessions required and their frequency during your first consultation. This may change according to how you respond to treatment.

We accept cash or credit card (no AMEX). Please bring a physical Credit card with you to your appointment if you plan to pay by card (not a card on a mobile phone).
If you have Private Health Insurance for Physiotherapy you will be eligible for a rebate from your health insurance. We do not have HICAPS facilities however can provide you with a receipt for you to claim the gap from your insurer. The gap amount is dependent on your insurer and your level of extras cover. You can check the gap amount with your insurer. The initial consultation item code is 500, and the follow-up consultation code is 505.
Yes, Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC)/Chronic Disease Management Plans are accepted.
Please note that we do not bulk bill, so the total amount needs to be paid at the time of your appointment. Our facilities allows the processing of Medicare EPC/Chronic Disease Management Plan claims if you have a debit card, Medicare card and the referral form. The refund can be made into the account attached to your debit card.
If you do not have a debit card, Medicare card and the EPC referral form, a receipt can be provided, which you claim online through Medicare or claim in person at Medicare. The standard EPC rebate from Medicare is currently $60.34.
You cannot claim through both private health and a Medicare EPC.
Generally, treatment is not claimable with Medicare. We are not a bulk-billing practice.
However, if your GP has provided you with an Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC)/Chronic Disease Management Plan dated before your appointment, you can claim a rebate from Medicare. Your GP decides whether you are eligible for an EPC.
No medical referral is required for private patients. If you are a Workcover or TAC patient you will need a referral and please get in touch with the clinic before booking your appointment. If you have been given a referral please bring it along to your appointment along with any other relevant test results or reports.
If you have a referral from a doctor, please bring this with you. Bring other relevant information such as:
- Hearing test results
- Vestibular function test results
- X-rays, CT/Ultrasound/MRI scans and reports
- Specialist letters or reports
- Medication list
Please wear flat shoes (or have socks) and comfortable clothing to your appointment.
While the physiotherapist tries to minimise discomfort for the client, you may be required to move into positions during the assessment and treatment which provoke dizziness and sometimes nausea. If you are concerned or have a history of motion sickness and vomiting, we recommend taking an anti-nausea medication about 30 minutes before your appointment or having some anti-nausea medication with you, if needed for after the session.
Most people can comfortably drive home after their appointment however on occasion some people do suffer from significant vertigo, dizziness and nausea. If you are concerned it is best to have someone drive you to your initial consultation. There is adequate parking underground and on the streets nearby.
Last minute cancellations mean a missed opportunity for other patients to take advantage of this time. If you do not show or cancel with less than 24 hours notice, a 50% cancellation fee will be applied. If you don’t arrive or give less than 3 hours notice of cancellation, you will be charged 100% of your fee. *This fee is not covered by compensable bodies such as TAC and Work Cover and must be paid by the patient.
